On top of the World by Martyn Ashton

I saw this picture of me chatting with Sam at Bikeradar Live on Facebook the other day and just loved it. I don't actually remember what I was saying at the time, probably nothing more important than reminding him to keep drinking water, it was crazy hot at that event. I love the shot because it reminds me of that day and enjoying watching one of the World's best Dirt Jump riders handle all the stress and pressure of performing in front of a home crowd. Sam so wanted to win that event, it would extend his lead in the World tour but I think he just wanted to please a UK crowd more than anything.
Needless to say Sam nailed the comp with amazingly consistent runs all weekend. His quality of tricks was just too much for the chasing pack and he thoroughly deserved the top step of the podium.
